Cosmetology Graduate
Learn history and theory, haircutting techniques, razor techniques, and more.
Cosmetology students who complete this program will be qualified to be licensed as basic estheticians.
Learn the techniques for manicures, pedicures, artificial nails, and polish.
Learn techniques related to chemical texture treatments, color theory, hairstyling, wigs, and hair extensions.
Learn basic communication skills, salon standard practices, and license expectations.
Learn disinfection and sterilization procedures and become familiar with common tools and equipment.
Offer hair, skin, and nail services, including professional makeup application and hairstyling.
Perform facials, skin treatments, and hair removal in spa and salon settings. Help clients with skin health and appearance.
Provide coloring, lightening, and correcting of hair shades. Create bold or natural styles for you clients.
Manage a team of beauty professionals, handle operations, schedules, and services to make sure the salon runs beautifully.
Promote and sell salon products. Educate stylists, estheticians, and barbers so they can use the products well.
The Cosmetology program is designed to prepare students for employment in cosmetology/barbering, hair design, and skin and nail care. This program prepares students for employment in a salon and/or to open a new salon business.
Students in this program develop communication, professional behavior, and the care skills of working in a salon business. Students work with salon guests in a well-equipped salon and perform these skills with the newest techniques, products, and equipment in the industry. Students learn to communicate with customers, analyze skin, hair, and nails, and perform the duties of hair cutting, coloring, styling, chemical texture services, and basic skin and nail care.

AnnaMichelle Molina has been in the beauty industry for over 15 years. They are an experienced educator with 8 years of experience in higher education. This includes specialties in leadership, adult education, sales, student enrollment, marketing, team management, compliance, human resources, and directorship. Previous roles include Education Leader for Paul Mitchell the School Ogden with a team of approximately 15 staff and 100 students, as well as working in the industry as a stylist and barber. Mrs. Molina has worked alongside mentors and other leaders in higher education to achieve positive outcomes for the Paul Mitchell institution.
AnnaMichelle prides herself on being adaptable, relatable, transparent, and a dedicated leader. They will be an asset to the OTECH community. Mrs. Molina’s vision is to promote kindness and compassion while supporting the team in achieving college goals.
