This past week, ten Ogden-Weber Technical College students represented the college and the State of Utah at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference. The conference was held in Louisville, Ky. with over 16,000 students, teachers, and business partners attending. All ten competitors and their advisors represented the state and our community with distinction.
This SkillsUSA competition highlights the very best and talented technical education students from around the country. Three Ogden-Weber Tech students were awarded national championship medals in their respective competitions.
Ogden-Weber Technical College national medalists are:
Ben Jasperson – College Division- Programming – Silver
Kennedie Favero- High School Division – Cosmetology – Bronze
Mariana Figueroa – High School Division – Barbering – Silver
Kennedie Favero was an early-college student who enrolled in our cosmetology program while attending Fremont High School. Mariana Figueroa was also an early-college student from Ogden High School who enrolled in our barbering program.
