UHCC-Partner-of-the-Year-Award

2019 Education Partner of the Year

The Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (UHCC) recognized President James R. Taggart as its “2019 Education Partner of the Year” during the UHCC Convention held on October 10, 2019 in Salt Lake City.

Alex Guzman, UHCC president and CEO, stated that President Taggart was selected for the award because of his strong support of UHCC and his commitment to the Hispanic community.

The Ogden-Weber Technical College’s Strategic Plan includes initiatives to increase enrollment and retention of its multicultural population in Weber County. Because of President Taggart’s commitment to serving people of color, the college’s overall minority population has grown to 33.8 percent of the student body, and Hispanic/Latino students make up 27.5 percent of the population.
