LUPEC Award

College Receives Award from Latinos United Promoting Education & Civic Engagement (LUPEC)

On October 5, 2019, LUPEC hosted the annual Ogden Hispanic Festival (OHF) at Ogden Union Station. The OHF highlights the culture, history, education, food, music, dance, and gastronomy of the Latino community, and this year’s theme was “Civic Engagement & Culture, the Path to Education and Success.”

Priscilla Martinez, Access & Outreach coordinator, and Helen Salcedo, pre-enrollment advisor, staffed a booth, providing participants with information about the programs, services, and resources available to the community. The college is committed to increasing the number of minority students on campus and makes it a priority to support community outreach events.

LUPEC presented the college with an award in recognition of its valuable sponsorship and the support that made the Ogden Hispanic Festival possible.
