Did you know the average student loan debt amounts to $38,390? Fortunately, Ogden-Weber Technical College is mandated by law to provide technical training at low cost to adults and at no tuition cost to secondary students.
Regrettably, there are still students who struggle to cover the costs of tuition, fees, and materials. The college is fortunate to have many generous donors with the vision and willingness to invest in the success of those in need.
Many of the college’s students fall in the low-income category, and any financial amount can be a barrier to enrollment or completion. That’s where scholarship donations bridge the gap. With as little as $100 per student, one donor helped eight Nursing Assistant students achieve their educational and career goals. Three of those students graduated; four are still enrolled; and one new student will be starting the program in the near future.
As one Nursing Assistant student said upon receiving his scholarship, “I was really grateful and excited. Grateful because we don’t have that much money, and every dollar counts. Excited because I feel that I am that much closer to becoming a nurse due to this assistance.”
Low in price, but priceless to students.
