Spring is that beautiful time of year when we celebrate rebirth, renewal, and growth, especially with nature transforming the landscape in which we live. Wherever you look, there is evidence of new beginnings, often sprouting from seeds planted in the past.
That’s what our scholarship donors do. They plant the seeds of success for students like Makayla, a Medical Assisting student. She struggled in high school. Her grades and attendance weren’t good, and she did not have motivation to change. However, she decided she wanted to become an anesthesiologist, and the first step in her career was enrolling in the college’s Medical Assisting program. She found out that high school students could attend tuition-free.
With graduation fast approaching, she knew she needed to find ways to cover her tuition, so she applied for a scholarship.
“When I submitted the application, I was constantly checking my email for anything about the scholarship,” Makayla said. “When I realized I was lucky enough to be accepted, I felt shocked but mainly excited and relieved. The scholarship will make it stress-free while I continue to save up for supplies and future months of tuition.”
She further stated, “I don’t know where I want to work when I am done with my education, but I know I want to do my best to achieve my dreams.” With support from our donors, we know she will.
