The end of the year is generally a happy one, full of celebrations, people looking forward to a new year bursting with possibilities, and often, for the college, last minute donations to support student success and programs. It IS a wonderful time of year to generously give to others!
But do you know what other times of the year provide great opportunities to make a donation?
- During Admit You’re Happy Month (August).
- During Read a Road Map Week (first week of April).
- On National Pancake Day (February 25, 2020).
- On any day that ends in “y.”
Any time you can make a donation is a GREAT time to make a donation. Any amount you can afford to donate is the RIGHT amount. The college and students benefit from a single dollar as well as thousands of dollars.
Donors help people like Rosendo, a student in the Machinist program. He’s had a passion for machining since high school and enrolled in the college’s program in 1999. He didn’t complete at that time due to work responsibilities, but he’s back—20 years later—as a scholarship recipient, ready to upgrade his skills and finally graduate.
We were fortunate to end 2019 with a generous outpouring of support. We’re sending our heartfelt gratitude to the foundations and companies that support our mission and invested in students during the fourth quarter of 2019:
- George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation – $20,000
- Kimberly-Clark Corporation – $2,385
- Midtown Community Health Center – $1,500
- Stella H. Oaks Foundation – $1,000
- Dr. W.C. Swanson Family Foundation – $2,000
- C. Scott and Dorothy E. Watkins Charitable Foundation – $10,000
