Student Stories: How the OTECH Foundation Fosters Student Success

Technical education is essential in preparing people for success in the workforce and contributing to the growth and progress of our community. Not only does it provide practical skills and knowledge that can lead to better job opportunities, higher income, and economic growth, but it also helps address skills gaps in various industries promoting innovation and development.

The OTECH Foundation’s goal is to make real the promises of higher education to all it serves. Students with additional financial and family obligations are twice as likely to drop out of school in their first year without additional support. Students are often squeezing in classes between numerous responsibilities while juggling various familial and financial demands. Scholarships help alleviate financial stresses that can hinder successful college completion.

The foundation partners with like-hearted donors to build a prosperous community and create social stability by supporting technical education students through scholarships and student support programs. Lindsey, a scholarship student enrolled in OTECH’s Medical Coding & Billing program said, My scholarship will help me be able to finish school without worrying about how I am going to afford it. I will be able to start debt free and ready to work! Arianna, another scholarship student enrolled in OTECH’s Nursing Assistant program said, I was beyond excited when I received the scholarship. More than anything, I was grateful that someone who had no idea who I was, was willing to help me in my journey to success.

Philanthropic support allows students to realize, often for the first time, that someone believes in them. That belief quickly develops into the expectation to succeed. Your investment is changing lives and helping students achieve their dreams.
