Ogden-Weber Technical College (OTECH) programs create pathways for students to careers, more educational opportunities, and prosperity for themselves and their families. We are pleased to announce that the Utah Legislature has approved funding for a new Pathway Building on campus that will allow OTECH to eliminate waiting lists, improve student services, and help more people than ever learn in-demand skills to transform their lives and strengthen Utah’s workforce.
The 121,000 square foot building will include instructional space and industry-standard labs for high-wage, high-demand programs, consolidated student services, and space to expand existing partnerships with university partners and local school districts.
A study by the Kem C. Gardner Institute found that 31 percent of Ogden-Weber Tech students are economically disadvantaged, more than at any other public higher education institution in the state. Most students attend part time to accommodate work schedules and family responsibilities. Wraparound services and industry-standard educational spaces are critical to give these students the skills and opportunities they need to improve their lives and their family’s future. Thanks to employer-validated credentials, OTECH graduates make an average of $50,000 as they enter the workforce, with no student loan debt.
As we look forward to the new building and all the opportunities it presents, we also celebrate the dedication and generosity of those who support students.
