2025 Donor Appreciation Breakfast

Every March, the OTECH Foundation hosts the Donor Appreciation Breakfast to honor the generous supporters who transform our students’ lives. This special gathering brings together donors and scholarship recipients, allowing students to express gratitude while donors witness the direct impact of their contributions.

This year, seven scholarship recipients shared their powerful journeys. Here are a few highlights from their remarks:

A Ukrainian Nursing Assistant student spoke movingly about rebuilding life for herself and her children in a new country, expressing profound gratitude for OTECH’s financial support.

A Computer Aided Design student revealed how, after years as a stay-at-home mother, she finally pursued her passion. Her misconception that scholarships were only for “young, fresh out of high school students” and her heartfelt thanks had many donors sharing their own similar experiences.

A Cosmetology student shared her dream of working with theater productions in Salt Lake City. When illness threatened her education, her scholarship became a crucial lifeline.

A recently graduated high school student has completed two OTECH programs and is currently finishing her third program while being a full-time student at Weber State. She shared how grateful she is for OTECH and all the opportunities she has received since starting school here.

A Medical Coding and Billing student shared how illness forced her to change careers. Previously active, she now needs work that allows sitting and working from home. She expressed deep gratitude to donors who eased this transition by covering her tuition costs.

An Industrial Automation student, newly independent and navigating adulthood on his own, expressed how his scholarship has been crucial in helping him manage his financial responsibilities.

We concluded with a Business student who, after 30 years in woodworking, emphasized how his OTECH education transformed his abilities as a business owner.

These stories vividly illustrate how your generosity creates real, life-changing opportunities. Your generous support bridges critical gaps, enabling us to assist students who might otherwise be unable to pursue their educational goals. With a growing student body and increasing need, the OTECH Foundation is intensifying our efforts to connect with more donors who share our commitment to making a difference in our community.
