Celebrating OTECH’s Newest LPNs

Ogden-Weber Technical College (OTECH) celebrated its newest Practical Nursing (LPN) graduates on Nov. 17 at the fall pinning ceremony.

As part of the ceremony, each student is honored by a chosen family member, mentor, or loved by placing the traditional nursing pin—symbolizing their transition from student to professional.

“What I love the most about the Practical Nursing program is the way our students grow into confident compassionate professionals through their own hard work and dedication,” said Madison Reed, OTECH’s Practical Nursing program manager. “Our pinning ceremony reflects that. Each pin symbolizes their hard work, the challenges they’ve overcome, and their commitment to caring for others…a reminder of their resilience and compassion.”

The Practical Nursing program at OTECH is 10 months and prepares students for nursing roles across a variety of healthcare settings. Highlights of the program:

  • Small class sizes for more 1-1 instruction
  • Instructors have previously worked in the field, providing a depth of experience
  • Learning is hands-on with labs, simulations, and supervised clinical experience
  • IV Training
  • Free lab kits AND free parking
  • Evening hours for more flexibility

After completing the program, graduates are prepared to take the NCLEX-PN licensure exam and can begin working as LPNs, with the option to pursue further education and become registered nurses (RN).

The OTECH Practical Nursing program has a 100% NCLEX pass-rate, and completers can jump straight into Weber State University’s RN program, no need to apply!
