OGDEN, UT – Students and graduates of Ogden-Weber Technical College (OTECH) now have a new seamless pathway to continue their education, thanks to an exciting partnership with Western Governors University (WGU).

Credits earned at OTECH will now transfer to WGU to go towards a bachelor’s and even a master’s degree saving students time, reducing costs, and opening doors to further career opportunities.

“At Ogden-Weber Tech, we train students with the skills they need to become immediately employed in a high-wage, high-demand job here in our community,” said OTECH president, James R. Taggart. “This partnership builds upon the hands-on, career-ready skills our students receive at OTECH and are continuing to develop with their employers, providing direct employment pathways and leadership opportunities. Through WGU, our students and alumni have access to high-quality, higher education that allows them to stay employed, have appropriate work, life and school balance, and stay in our community.”

In addition to expanding educational access and career advancement, the partnership introduces new financial support for OTECH students, alumni, and faculty through the WGU Community College Partner Scholarship: up to $3,500 towards tuition at WGU.

“Just like OTECH, WGU is flexible, personalized and a good option for people with busy schedules,” said Jenna Hunt, Manager of Student Access and Success at OTECH. “WGU enrollment counselors are ready to help our students transfer their applicable credits and start working toward a degree today!”

Interested students should visit with their program advisor to explore pathways and learn how their credits transfer.
