Foundation Invest Now

Your gift really does matter. There are many ways you can support Ogden-Weber Technical College Foundation’s mission to impact economic development through technical education. Every contribution, whatever the size, makes a difference and is deeply appreciated.
Invest in Education

Your investment may be designated for any of our current priorities:

Scholarship Fund

The Foundation assists more than 350 low-moderate income and academically talented students each year with scholarships to help them to continue or complete training.

Funding for the Scholarship Fund is made possible by the generosity of more than 200 donors each year.

Student Success Center

The Student Success Center is a mentor-based career services center. At the heart of the center are job coaches who increase retention, certificate completion, and job placement for first-generation, low-income technical education college students. The coaches assist students in developing critical soft skills necessary to successfully obtain and retain career employment. Their services include workshops, mentoring to remove barriers and increase confidence, practice job interviews, access to employment resources, resume preparation, and assistance with employer follow-up. The center facilitates over 5,000 visits per year.

In-Kind Contributions

The college’s 30+ programs always need equipment and materials to give students the kind of real-world experience employers require.  Contact Maria Milligan at 801-395-3781 or maria.milligan@otech.edu for more information.

The Ogden-Weber Technical College Foundation is a nonprofit organization under IRS code 501(c)3  formed exclusively for educational charitable purposes to promote the educational mission of the Ogden-Weber Technical College. With a volunteer board of trustees and professional support from the college, the foundation maintains a policy that no administrative costs are deducted from donations.

Endowed and Legacy Giving

Setting up an ongoing student support or scholarship fund through endowed and legacy giving is the best way to ensure your donation will make an impact on students and our community for decades to come. Endowed and legacy gifts are carefully invested and managed by the OTECH Foundation to grow and provide student support in perpetuity. Gifts may be tailored to match your specific interests and priorities while helping OTECH build a prosperous community, one student at a time.

Endowed Giving

As the college grows, so does demand for scholarships and other student support initiatives. Donors may elect to create an endowed scholarship fund to ensure funds are always available for future students. Named, donor-directed endowed scholarship funds are established with gifts of $25,000 or more. As interest accrues in the fund, annual scholarships are awarded from that growth.

Donors who create an endowed fund may select the criteria for scholarship awards, including college program, student background, financial need, and other factors.

The OTECH Foundation will help you outline scholarship criteria so the fund achieves your goals while helping as many students as possible complete their education and start a sustainable career.

Legacy and Planned Giving

You may also choose to leave a lasting gift for OTECH students in a will, estate plan, or through annual planned giving. Bequests and deferred gifts are an easy way to leave a legacy for generations of OTECH students.

Donors may choose to become legacy givers through their will, a charitable gift annuity, beneficiary designation in a retirement plan or insurance policy, charitable remainder trust, gifts of life insurance, and more.

The OTECH Foundation will work with donors on options for legacy and planned giving, including designating how the donated funds will be used in the futures. Legacy gifts over $25,000 may be used to create named, donor-directed endowment funds.
