I graduated from OTECH in 2018, and it may have been one of the best decisions I ever made. I am currently working for FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention. I also worked as Rossignol’s North American Graphic Designer. Though my journey in this career didn’t start too long ago, I’ve got so many dreams. I’m ready and working towards them every day.”
Looking back at where I started and where I’m at now is crazy! I am now co-owner of Certified Barbers Studio located in Roy. I also am running Certified Barbers Club selling merch for barbers. I’m working on some new drops coming soon! I also just had a daughter who is now two months old. I had a great experience at OTECH. Shoutout to everybody that supported me!”
I’m so glad I was able to get my CNA certificate at OTECH! It made me so excited for my future in nursing. I am studying pre-nursing at WSU and working as a CNA. I can’t wait to be a neonatal nurse practitioner one day!”
“I graduated from OTECH with my Composites certificate shortly after graduating high school. With this I was able to get a job in aerospace with Northrop Grumman immediately after I turned 18. My education kickstarted my career quickly and early on in life, and my commitment to the career field allowed me to move on to work for Hill Air Force Base, where I’m allowed to work on some pretty cool projects and aircraft and use not only my Composites skills but other industry skills that I’ve picked up along the way. I make a decent living and I have a good quality of life and valuable skills which will serve me for a lifetime, and it all started with OTECH. I’m a huge advocate of trade schools and affordable, quality education that translates to quality employment, and I believe that’s what OTECH has to offer to their students. I’d recommend them to anybody!”
Ogden-Weber Tech helped me achieve a long-time goal/career/dream. I’m working at The Rose Garden Salon in Roy! I’ve been at the salon for almost 9 months now. Things are going great! I have amazing clients who have been with me since I graduated, and I have gained so many new faces. I’ve attended 2 Utah Nail Expo events, and this year I will be attending as a VIP attendant! I am forever grateful for the amazing opportunity I was given while attending the school. Thank you OTECH for the amazing career opportunity and thank you for believing in me!”
I began my cosmetology journey in the summer of 2022 and graduated in spring of 2023. I have been working professionally since, building my clientele, building my brand, and making a new career for myself. I am ambitious and excited to see what the future brings.”
I almost gave up when I got so overwhelmed with the program and my externship. But I’m glad I didn’t give up. I am now working with a pharmacy where the people are awesome and friendly, and the pay is definitely worth it. It’s a lot of hard work since we ship medication internationally and sometimes even get some famous customers! It’s been such a journey to get where I am now, but I have never been so thankful and appreciative of those who supported me the whole way.”
I was new in the state of Utah and was introduced to OTECH. At first I was skeptical about going into school again. After meeting with the counselors and my instructors in Industrial Automation, it filled me with confidence to continue my education. Previously I was working from state to state as a machine technician. So with the help of the instructors and staff, I was able to apply quickly and begin again. I’m very happy and excited that I went through with the decision to continue my education, and I recommend anyone and everyone to go through with continuing their education. It has been a wonderful experience at OTECH.”
Welding was the first program I graduated from OTECH, and I landed a welding job over at Wheel Pros Dynamics. I wanted to expand my horizons, so I decided to look into NDT. With the help of the College and my father, who is the most inspirational person in my life, I eventually completed the program! There were plenty of ups and downs. However, I never gave up and I’m fortunate that I didn’t. I now work for an aerospace company, and I continue to make my family proud.”

Business Technology Alum
Director of Boards and Commissions, State of Utah
“Earning a Business Tech certificate from OTECH in 2014 was a pivotal point in my life. The certificate gave me the job skills and confidence I needed to re-enter the workplace after being away for 15 years. Since graduating from OTECH, I established a career in development and fundraising for nonprofit organizations. In 2021, I had an opportunity to change career paths to work in public service and politics. Governor Cox appointed me to serve on his administration as the Director of Boards and Commissions. My career has given me opportunities to engage with my local community and serve in various leadership roles in the Ogden Breakfast Exchange Club, Ogden-Weber Chamber of Commerce, Davis Chamber of Commerce, and Ogden Rotary Club. The leadership, instructors, and staff provided me the resources to obtain knowledge and employable skills. I value the education I received from OTECH.”
Medical Assisting Alum
Program Director, Ogden-Weber Technical College
“After completing my MA certificate, I went on to complete a bachelor’s degree at Weber State University and eventually a master’s degree. My MA training really helped me land my first management job, as front line experience set me apart from other applicants.”
Computer-Aided Design Alum
Engineering Manager, Mountain Alarm
“I was about halfway through my program when I was approached by my instructor. He told me about an open position in a company called Mountain Alarm. The position was for a Fire Alarm Designer. I was completely caught off guard. I had a lot of doubt in my capability in performing what was being asked by the job description. So much so, that I almost didn’t apply for the job. He continued to put pressure on me to apply. I finally gave in. Let me tell you, I appreciate that man for doing so. Seven years later I am now the Engineering Manager for the very department I applied to.
The CAD program was fantastic and gave me the knowledge I needed to figure out exactly where I wanted to go. At first I thought I wanted to go into Architectural, but then soon realized I loved Mechanical drafting! The program really prepares you in the sense of figuring out what you’d like to do and then feeding you knowledge about it.
That little bit of knowledge of each type of trade (architectural, mechanical, etc.) became useful to me when I received my new position. Even though this job only consists of 10% CAD skills, the knowledge I received helped me form concepts and generate ideas to further my growth in Mountain Alarm.
What I want to emphasize to you are the instructors. They are the ones that pushed me and believed in my capabilities. They showed me an alternative path in my career and encourage me to take it. I am forever grateful to them.”
