Business professionals are essential to every industry in the world today. Large and small businesses, non-profits, health care and other service organizations, and even entrepreneurs all rely on skilled people who specialize in analyzing, organizing, marketing, and managing. We help you master those skills. So whether you are a looking to get a head start in a rewarding career, or update your skills and increase your marketability in the workplace, we have you covered. The program is open to high school students and adults.

The Business program offers foundational training that will prepare students to excel at a career in any business setting. The program fosters a strong work ethic and independent learning, where students can cultivate knowledge, practice technical skills, and develop professional work habits. Students will have the opportunity to earn industry certifications that verify technical skills and enhance credibility.



Program Objectives

  • Demonstrate computer proficiency by using business software to produce complex documents with speed, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Recognize principles of leadership and management by applying them in relevant business contexts.
  • Use basic financial and accounting principles to complete general accounting functions.
  • Develop written, verbal, and digital communication skills by preparing clear, concise, and correct messages for a business environment.
  • Practice professional skills that are vital for career development and success in the workplace.

Program Coordinator

Tracy Goertzen

Tracy brings over 30 years of experience in professional office administration and customer service to OTECH. Beginning her career as a Directory Assistance Operator, Tracy has worked as a Legislative Correspondent for a US Congressman, as a small business office administrator, and as Director of Marketing Services for Farm Bureau Insurance of Idaho. As a non-traditional returning college student, she understands the unique challenges faced by her online students. Tracy cares passionately about helping others realize their educational and professional goals and has witnessed first-hand the power of education to change lives and transform futures. She holds a Master’s Degree in Business Management and Leadership from Western Governors University.

Student Support Specialists are professionally trained and available for all students at the college. They are available to assist students who have questions regarding their program, progress and attendance, and program changes. The specialist can assist students with campus and program policies or procedures, student rights, as well as the policy and processes involved in student complaints. The student support specialist staff is also available to discuss personal/family matters, address emergency situations, and provide referrals to college and community services.

Our Online Business classes are perfect for working professionals, night owls, and everyone who likes to work on their own schedule. Classes are designed for students to work independently and at their own pace.* Experienced instructors are available for every course and will work with you to achieve mastery of each subject.
