Effective July 1, 2023, Ogden-Weber Technical College transitioned from clock-hour to credit-hour programs to adhere to Utah System of Higher Education policies and streamline articulation with other universities and colleges around the state.
As part of this transition, all programs converted to a pay up-front, per course model. Overall costs for students did not substantively change.
All new students since July 1, 2023, have been enrolled in credit-hour outlines. Students who began prior to July 1, 2023, have the option to remain on their clock-hour outline until June 30, 2025.
Beginning June 30, 2025, all Ogden-Weber Technical College students will be converted to a credit-hour outline. This change could impact course requirements and funding. So what does this mean for clock-hour students?

Beginning July 1, 2024, most OTECH students will move to a weekly course scheduling model at Ogden-Weber Technical College. This will simplify processes for students and instructors and make it easier to meet student needs.
All students on an FY24 or later program outline will move to a weekly scheduling model, with some modifications for students in programs with required attendance or operating in cohorts (Barbering, Cosmetology, Nail Technician, Nursing Assistant, Real Estate, Apprenticeships, and Practical Nursing).
In this model, all courses will begin on Mondays and end on Fridays. When you work with your instructor and/or admissions to register for your next course, you will choose whether you want to be a full-time (FT) or a part-time (PT) student.
Course length and end date will be determined by whether you are a full-time or part-time student.
