Ogden-Weber Technical College (OTECH) complies with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. OTECH does not discriminate on the basis of sex in the areas of education, employment, and public accommodations.


College Policy


OTECH strives to create and maintain a study and work environment that is safe, and conducive to learning.  Each member of the college community should be treated with dignity and respect. The college prohibits any acts of sexual harassment or sexual violence by any student, faculty, or staff member, and any form of retaliation related to incidents or reports of these offenses.

All members of the OTECH community are expected to not infringe upon the rights of others. Sexual harassment and sexual violence will not be tolerated.

Title IX Sexual Harassment, Sexual Violence, and Related Conduct Violations Policy


The Law

Sexual harassment and sexual violence is illegal. It is prohibited in the education context by Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and in the employment context by Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended.

Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence Defined

Sexual harassment: conduct on the basis of sex that satisfies one or more of the following:  An employee conditioning the provision of an aid, benefit, or service on an individual’s participation in unwelcome sexual conduct; Unwelcome conduct determined by a reasonable person to be so severe, pervasive, and objectively offensive that it effectively denies a person equal access to their education program or activity

Sexual assault: Any sexual act directed against another person, without the consent of the victim, including instances where the victim is incapable of giving consent; also unlawful sexual intercourse, including the following: rape, sodomy, sexual assault with an object, fondling, and statutory rape.
