Withdrawal

Withdrawals and Course Tuition

OTECH is transitioning to pay-up-front courses on July 1, 2023.

If you withdraw from a course, you may re-enroll within six months by paying a $25 re-enrollment fee. If you re-enroll after six months, you will be required to pay for the entire course.

The college encourages all students to complete their current course if possible before a temporary withdrawal. Please speak to your program counselor prior to completing this form if you have questions.

How to withdraw:

You must initiate a withdrawal from the tech college when you either:

  • Complete all of your courses and decide to leave the college

OR

  • Decide for any reason that you no longer wish to attend

An official withdrawal is required.

You must complete and submit the withdrawal form below to officially end your education at the college.

If you are a high school student, you may not withdraw without the permission of your Career and Technical Education Coordinator.

If you do not officially withdraw from the college, you will continue to be financially responsible for any tuition that accrues from your courses, even if you are no longer attending.

Students receiving federal student aid (Pell or SEOG) should contact the Financial Aid Office before withdrawing as they may be required to return part or all the federal funding depending on the length of time spent in the program if they completely withdraw.

* If this withdraw is related to a pregnancy, please contact the Title IX Coordinator at title.ix@otech.edu to understand your rights to pregnancy related protections and accommodations prior to submitting this form.

The college encourages all students to complete their current course, if possible before withdrawing and ending their schedule. Please speak to your student support specialist prior to completing this form if you have any questions.

What you should know about withdraw and ending your course scheduling:

  • If you plan on returning to the same course(s) you will be responsible to repay for that course in full upon rescheduling.
  • Consider taking a Leave of Absence (LOA). A LOA allows you to take time off without having to pay for the course in full upon rescheduling.
  • Talk to your student support specialist prior to withdrawing, if you have extenuating circumstances.

High school students should notify their CTE counselor before withdrawing.

Students receiving federal student aid (PELL or SEOG) should contact the Financial Aid office before withdrawing.
