Hybrid instruction is a mixture of in-person work and online instruction. Complete coursework remotely and come into the classroom only for labs and hands-on skills.

Eve: M-Th 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Medical assistants are trained to perform both administrative and clinical tasks in the outpatient setting. Clinical skills include preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, administering injections and medications, and assisting with minor surgical procedures.
Medical assistants are multi-skilled, allied health care professionals responsible for various clinical and/or administrative duties and are an essential part of a healthcare team. This program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions that will allow them to learn and move into higher-level job opportunities by working with physicians and providers in office settings. Students in this program learn cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains by focusing on administrative and back office clinical skills. Upon successful completion of all required courses, students participate in an externship in a medical office. Graduates of the program are eligible to take a national certification exam.

Lori Jensen is a certified medical assistant with over 20 years of experience in the healthcare field. She holds an associate's degree and has built her career around a deep passion for helping others and improving patient care. For the past 10 years, Lori has served as a manager of a busy multispecialty practice, where she has led teams, streamlined operations, and fostered a culture of excellence and compassion.
In her current role as a Medical Assistant Coordinator and Instructor, Lori is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals. Her hands-on experience and commitment to education make her a trusted guide for students entering the medical field.
Outside of her professional life, Lori enjoys baking, crafting, traveling, and spending quality time with her family. Her creativity and warmth are evident both in her personal interests and in the care she brings to her work.

Student support specialists are professionally trained and available for all students at the college. They are available to assist students who have questions regarding their program, progress and attendance, and program changes. The specialist can assist students with campus and program policies or procedures, student rights, as well as the policy and processes involved in student complaints. The student support staff is also available to discuss personal/family matters, address emergency situations, and provide referrals to college and community services.

Complete training hours in an outpatient clinical facility to fine-tune the skills learned in the classroom with real patients and providers. Prepare for a career in medical assisting by gaining the required job experience and references.
Complete focused instruction applicable for a career in medical assisting. Instruction will include medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, clinical skills, phlebotomy, front office skills and more.
Prepare to sit for national certification exams that are preferred by employers. Your coursework in our Medical Assistant program will help you have the confidence and skills necessary for certification.
Instruct patients regarding their healthcare needs. Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patient's medical needs are met.
