Tuition Structure Changes

Starting July 1, 2023, all OTECH students will begin paying for each enrolled course up-front, rather than paying for that same course month to month.

What does this mean for you as a current OTECH student?

The first course you start after July 1, 2023, will be pay-up-front.

The new pay-up-front structure will not substantially change the overall cost of your courses. It will just change the way you pay.

  • You will continue paying $2.00 per clock hour in tuition
  • The monthly fee has been converted to a general fee that is part of the overall cost of the course
  • The course payment (combined tuition and fee) will be due the day before your course begins
  • The required payment will show in your student portal once you are enrolled in a course
  • You can pay for your course online through your student portal, in person, or by calling student accounts at 801-627-8313.

High school students attend tuition free, so this change will not affect our concurrently enrolled high school students.

You can find the total costs for each course by talking to your instructor, student support specialist or an admissions advisor, or by emailing student.accounts@otech.edu

Students who have not paid for the course by 10 p.m. the night before it starts will be dropped from the schedule. There will be a fee for late payment or for a schedule reactivation. If you are concerned about how to pay for your program, please speak to the Financial Aid office or your student support specialist about the many options we have for scholarships and student assistance.

If you have questions about this transition and how it will affect you, please contact your student support specialist or admissions advisor.
